Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T.)
Health and Safety is becoming of utmost importance and Portable Appliance Testing is an important part of any Health and Safety Policy.
The Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and take practical steps to ensure no danger results from the use of portable appliances.
The Electricity at Work regulations 1989 requires electrical appliances and systems to be maintained to prevent the risk of accidents. Recommendations in The Health and Safety Executive Memorandum of Guidance HS(R)25 state that maintenance should be based on a regime of regular inspection and testing by a competent person.

Thermographic Imaging
Thermal imaging involves the surveying of electrical, mechanical or structural parts of a building by viewing otherwise invisible thermal radiation with specialist equipment. Thermal imaging is not a statutory requirement, but many insurers, risk managers and buildings maintenance personnel are now recognising its significant contribution in planned and predictive maintenance, not otherwise recognised in statutory obligations.

There is very little or no interruption, as the time taken to survey the site is relatively short, though it does require all services to be operating at a normal state. Survey time can be relatively short.

The real skill lies in the interpretation of the results. Our thermographically trained staff will provide you with a full thermographic report, detailing the anomalies found, and if required, images of all areas surveyed, irrespective of hotspots or not. The imager transposes the temperature reading taken in each of its field of view, and converts it into a thermal image. The images are stored, and downloaded to specialist analysis software, after which your advisory report is prepared.
